Man pleads guilty in double shooting on Demaret Drive
Eddie Holmes, Jr. has pleaded guilty for a double shooting on Demaret Drive in Boone County. The shooting happened in April 2015, leaving two people injured. Holmes pleaded guilty Tuesday and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Holmes was also a suspect in a shooting on the same road in June 2015.

Eddie Lee Holmes was arrested Tuesday on a warrant for charges stemming back to an April shooting on the same street.
Holmes was arrested in the 200 block of Highview Avenue.
Two people were injured Monday night just after 8:00 p.m. in the 700 block of Demaret.
A Boone County sheriff’s detective told ABC 17 there was a gathering outside the home when two suspects walked up and one of them opened fire. When investigators arrived, the two victims were laying in the grass.
Both people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Holmes had an original warrant for 2 counts of unlawful use of a weapon and 2 counts of armed criminal action for the April shooting.
Holmes faces charges for Monday’s shooting, including 2 counts of first degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, and 2 counts of armed criminal action.
