News Producer

Job Description:

The News Producer’s duties include creating, organizing, writing and assembling daily newscasts and assisting with management of the station’s news website and other online ventures. The successful candidate will be expected to function within the framework of a research-driven news department that emphasizes source cultivation, enterprising and breaking news. Employee must have the flexibility to work in the modern newsroom and could be called upon to beat report, produce, web edit, etc.

Qualifications:

The right candidate must be a strong writer, have good organizational skills and superior news judgment. He/she will have an eye for video, graphics and the elements that make a live television show more watchable. The candidate must work well under pressure, work well with other people and meet strict deadlines. A college degree in journalism, communication or a related field is preferred. Previous newsroom experience is a plus. The position will require operation of a company vehicle or a personal vehicle for business use. Candidate must have a valid Missouri driver’s license and pass a drug test, background and MVR check.
