Man charged after allegedly breaking into ex’s garage with knives
An Osage Beach man was charged Monday after allegedly breaking into his former girlfriend’s garage with knives.
Deputies arrested 34-year-old Travis Dale early Monday morning.
Camden County deputies said they responded to the6000 block of Baydy Peak Road for a reported home invasion shortly after midnight Monday morning. Troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol and officers from the Osage Beach Police Department also assisted in the response.
Deputies said a female originally called 911 to advise someone was trying to break into her house through the front door and then through a window. The woman then told authorities the suspect was trying to enter the house from the attached garage.
The caller told officers on scene she thought the person in the garage was her estranged boyfriend, Travis Dale, and she was afraid he was armed with a shotgun and a knife. She explained they had been involved in a verbal fight on Sunday night.
When officers arrived on the scene, the suspect apparently barricaded himself inside the garage to the home.
Deputies said they spent about an hour trying to speak to Dale through the garage door. Deputies then deployed tear gas into the garage and took Dale into custody.
Deputies said they did not locate a shotgun, but said Dale was in possession of several knives at the time of his arrest.
Deputies said they Dale was booked in Camden County Adult Detention Facility. Dale was charged on Monday with felony burglary and resisting arrest.
