Chilly through Thursday, warming weekend

Looking at 30 years of weather data for Mid-Missouri, the average high temperature for this time of year is 48 with an average low of 28. Days are running below average through Thursday as chilly northwesterly winds continue behind a departing storm system.

Surface winds will shift to the west-southwest as we head into Friday allowing the air to start warming. With more sunshine and a light westerly breeze, we’ll reach near 50 Friday with above average temperatures as we head into the weekend.

This will be the third consecutive weekend with spring-like temperatures. Southwesterly winds and abundant sunshine will bring temperatures up into the 60s Saturday and Sunday. However, we are watching a cold front which is forecast to move through late in the day Sunday. This will bring a chance of showers Sunday followed by slightly cooler air.
