Tracking patchy fog overnight, dry and cooler Monday

TONIGHT: Scattered storms diminish after sunset. Lows in the upper 60s with fog developing overnight.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and seasonably warm with highs in the upper 80s. A few isolated storms are possible by late afternoon, especially near the I-44 corridor.

EXTENDED: Scattered storms have popped up in the afternoon heat, but will lose steam as we lose daylight, diminishing after sunset. A weak low pressure system will be situated to our southeast on Monday, giving at least a small chance of isolated to scattered afternoon showers and storms, especially across eastern and southern portions of the region. Otherwise, after fog diminishes, expect more sunshine during the day to push highs into the upper 80s. Tuesday and Wednesday will be dry and sunny with high pressure in place, with highs reaching the upper 80s to around 90. Thursday looks to be the hottest day of the week as highs reach the low 90s as a warm front lifts north. This will bring heat index values into the upper 90s by late afternoon. Scattered showers and storms will be possible each day between Thursday and Saturday as this front looks to stall out across the region. We'll warm into the lower 90s for next weekend with more sunshine by Sunday.
