HyVee issues macadamia nut recall

Hy-Vee is voluntarily recalling “Hy-Vee” brand 2-ounce macadamia nuts due to a health risk.

The Des Moines based company said Wednesday night they were calling back the nuts because they could be contaminated with Salmonella.

So far, no illnesses have been reported.

Hy-Vee 2-ounce Macadamia Nuts were sold at all of the company’s 240 grocery stores.

The product came in a blue-colored 2-ounce plastic bag.

The macadamia nuts were sold at stores between July 2, 2015 and Feb. 3, 2016.

Customers who purchased the nuts should either get rid of them or return them for a full refund.
