Fulton teacher resigns after poor class performance

ABC 17 News confirmed Monday that a Fulton teacher resigned last week after district officials said her class was not performing at the same level as other classes in the same grade level.

Fulton Superintendent Jacque Cowherd said the 2nd grade class at McIntire Elementary was not up to par with the other second grade classes, and officials felt the class needed to be disbanded.

Cowherd said the teacher was offered a different position in the district, but turned it down and ultimately resigned.

Extra staff has been added to accommodate the addition of 2nd graders to other classes.
