Columbia police arrest sexual assault suspect

Columbia police arrested a man Friday afternoon in connection to a sexual assault investigation.

Police say detectives obtained a warrant to search 26-year-old Joanthony Johnson’s home on South Eighth Street.

During the search police say they found evidence related to the assault as well as marijuana, hallucinogens, hash oils and a scale.

Officers arrested Johnson for rape in the first degree with a bond to be set.
