Spring-like temperatures, rain chance Saturday

Southerly winds will continue to warm our temperatures through Saturday with daytime highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s which is 20 to 25 degrees above normal. Saturday will start off mild and dry with increasing clouds which will lead to a chance of showers as a storm system moves into southern Missouri.

A few showers are possible by early afternoon in the Truman Reservoir area and will increase through the afternoon, building toward the northeast. Rain will become more likely in the late afternoon and early evening south of I-70 with a few rumbles of thunder possible. Although there is a chance of spotty light rain north of I-70, most of the rain will stay south with up to .30″ expected.

Rain will gradually shift to the east Saturday night to near I-44 by early Sunday morning. Northerly winds will keep most of Mid-Missouri dry Sunday but areas along and south of I-44 could see rain through 8 AM before the rain shifts to the south.
