Snow moves in this evening, light accumulation

Light snow will move in quickly, affecting Mid-Missouri by mid-evening. A fast moving wave of low pressure will clip our north and eastern counties bringing light snow in as early as 7pm near HWY 36, spreading southeast through 10 pm and gradually shifting to the east overnight. Snow will be out of the area by 4 AM but roads for the morning commute will be slick in areas.

Areas north of I-70 and along and east of HWY 63 have the best chance of accumulating snow with a half inch to an inch possible. A band of 1-2 inches is expected east of HWY 63.

Columbia will likely see a half inch to possible an inch of snow with Jefferson City only a dusting. Higher amounts of 1 to 1- 1/2″ are expected in Fulton, Mexico, Moberly and Montgomery City.
