18-year-old dead after vehicle crash on Highway 50

A Sedalia teen is dead after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 50 at the Lamine River Bridge in Morgan County Thursday morning.

Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol said the crash involved a tractor trailer and a pickup truck.

18-year-old Alexander Carr of Sedalia was driving east and 40-year-old Joseph Wells was driving west on Highway 50 when Carr crossed the center line and hit Wells head-on at around 6:15 a.m.

Carr was pronounced dead at the scene and Wells was taken to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.
