Student brings BB gun to West Middle School

A West Middle School Student reportedly brought a BB gun to school.

Police responded to a call from the Middle School around 7:57 a.m on Tuesday, that there was a suspicious incident reported about a student. Columbia Public Schools told ABC 17 that a fellow student reported the BB gun to a school official.

This comes just a week after a different student from Lange Middle School brought a BB gun to school.

Michelle Baumstark, with Columbia Public Schools told ABC 17 that student’s tend to do activities over the weekend involving guns and forget to take them out of their backpacks by the time they get to school.

Baumstark reminds parents to check their children’s backpacks to avoid similar situations.
