Wind Advisory Issued for Far Western Counties for Monday

Sustained winds from the northwest are expected to strengthen to 25 and 30 mph by Monday morning, gusting up to and in excess of 45 mph for the far western areas of the Mid-Missouri region. In response to this, the National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Saline, Chariton, Benton, and Pettis counties starting at 8AM Monday and ending at 6PM Monday evening.

Coupled with light snow showers, these high winds will greatly limit visibilities at times, posing a hazard to drivers on roadways. Furthermore, strong crosswinds on highways will likely make travel difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

The strong winds are expected to subside a bit by sunset tomorrow.
