Second person dies after I-70 crash
A second person has died after a morning crash on Interstate 70 eastbound Saturday.
A passenger in the crash, Beverley Burgess, 81, died from her injuries after being taken to the hospital, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened near the 151 mile marker around 10:00 a.m.
Darrell Burgess, 64, of St. Louis died in the crash, according to the highway patrol.
Burgess drove under the median cables and into oncoming lanes of traffic, hitting another car head-on, according to the highway patrol crash report.
Burgess was pronounced dead on scene.
Beverly Burgess and the driver of the second car, Darion Jordan, 24, were also taken to the hospital in serious condition. ABC 17 News checked Sunday morning and University Hospital said it did not have Jordan listed as a patient.
Both lanes of eastbound I-70 were closed after the crash. The lanes were reopened just before 2:30 p.m.
