Officials to decide whether home is public nuisance in Columbia

Other efforts are moving forward on deciding whether a home in central Columbia should be torn down.

On Friday morning, there was a city hearing about the property on Fourth Avenue near Hickman High School.

It has no electric system and very little plumbing.

An inspector went through the house in August and recommended demolition.

Officials are making a final decision before giving the owner one more chance to clean up or demolish the site.

A timeline has not yet been set, but they expect something to happen within the next couple of weeks.
