February Sky
Through February 20th, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter will be aligned in the morning sky. Approximately 60-80 minutes before sunrise, look low in the horizon and to the south/southeast. The best time to view this will come in the morning on Friday February 5th.
Jupiter looks to rise first, followed by Mars-then Saturn and Mars. Venus and Mars will be lowest in the southeastern sky. Mercury will rise last and will be the lowest right before sunrise.
There may be some high clouds for counties west of US 63 by 6AM Friday morning. Areas east of US 63 will have the best chance to view this, if clouds don’t obscure the view.
The next chance to view this same alignment will be in August of this year. The next chance again, won’t come until October 2018.
