Missouri college football player found dead in home

Officials do not suspect foul play, after a member of the football team died over the weekend at Northwest Missouri State University.

Nicholas Turner was found dead Sunday where he lived on campus. He was a junior from St. Louis who just recorded a sack in the team’s NCAA Championship win against Shepherd.

A memorial at the university is set for 7 p.m. Monday at the J.W. Jones Student Union Ballroom.

Turner’s death remains under investigation by the Nodaway County coroner’s office, Maryville and University Police. They will provide information as it becomes available.
