Columbia Police release winter break burglary results
The Columbia Police Department has released the burglary numbers for the winter holiday period.
Between December 18 and January 19, there were 63 burglaries in the city, 49 at residential homes, 10 commercial buildings, and 4others.
That number is down from 2014-2014, when 105 burglaries were reported, and down from 96 in 2013.
After police checked all burglaries, it appears they were not concentrated to one specific area of town.
Out of the 63 burglaries, 24 were forced entry, 36 unforced, and 3 there was no entry.
