Man out on bond after charged with rape and burglary on MU campus
Update: Austin Campbell is now out on bond after he was banned from the University of Missouri Campus after he was charged with rape and burglary.
Campbell’s bond was reduced from $75,000 to $50,000.
19-year-old Austin Campbell was charged with the two felonies the morning of Wednesday, January 20th.
ABC 17 News picked up court documents which said Campbell went into a person’s room on Monday who he knew was intoxicated. They said Campbell had sex with that person without consent.
Court records indicate Campbell is forbidden from being on University of Missouri property.
Court records show Campbell’s address is 1005 Tiger Avenue, which is the Laws residential hall on MU campus.
The MU Residential Life website saysthose who live in the dorms on MU campus “must be enrolled in at least one class on the MU campus.”
At lease three rapes have been reported at Laws residential hall in the past three years. Police arrested one person in connection to one of those reports. No arrests were made in the other two.
Its unclear if this alleged rape happened at Laws.
His next court date is set for February 24th.
