Lawmakers meet on Governor’s budget recommendations

Missouri lawmakers met at the Capitol Monday to go over Governor Nixon’s budget recommendations.

Senator Kurt Schaefer led the Senate Appropriations Committee starting at 12:30.

In Nixon’s proposal, the budget includes $5 million to expand the Thompson Center for Autism.

He also wants to invest $131 million in additional state and federal funding for the Department of Mental Health.
