Digital Content Director
Job Description:
The Digital Content Director duties will include but are not limited to generating and managing editorial content on abc17news.com, the ABC17 Facebook page, the ABC17 Twitter account and other mobile and online properties. This position has additional responsibilities in working with management on the implementation of a strategic plan for site and social media products as well as projects involving other departments. This is a full-time position scheduled Monday through Friday 9am-6pm with flexibility required as needed in support of business operations.
Qualifications:
The right candidate will have a passion for breaking news and a good understanding of the news editorial process. The successful candidate will be organized, have strong writing skills, keep up with social media trends and have basic knowledge of computer programming and website back end work. The desired candidate is detail-oriented and deadline-focused, using multi-tasking abilities to produce newscasts, report and shoot video, in support of today’s teleivision newsroom operations. Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication or related field is preferred. Previous newsroom experience is a plus. Candidate must have a valid Missouri driver’s license and pass a drug test and background check.
