Columbia school leaders pass two April ballot proposals

Columbia school leaders finalized two ballot proposals on Thursday that will go to voters in April. They are asking for $30 million in bonds that do not raise taxes.

$4 million of that will be used to buy land for a new middle school, plus $2 million on the property design.

Another $11 million will go to elementary expansions.

There is a separate tax levy increase that is worth 65 cents. It is expected to raise more than $14.5 million.
