Suspect identified in 2-county car chase

Update (Jan. 17, 2016):
The Cooper County Jail has confirmed to ABC 17 News Jennifer Kidd is in their custody and was the woman involved in the Boonville – Columbia chase Friday night. According to the Cooper County Sheriff’s Department website, Kidd is being held on suspicion of resisting arrest by fleeing.

The car chase that started in Boonville, came to an end on Sexton Road between Grand Avenue and Mary Street in central Columbia, around 10:45 Friday night.

After leaving Boonville, the female driver, now identified as Jennifer Kidd, reportedly led authorities eastbound on I-70, off the Midway exit, back onto I-70, off the West Boulevard exit, onto the Business Loop and eventually ending on Sexton.

The pursuit reportedly started around 10:15 p.m. and involved the Boonville Police Department, Boone County Sheriff’s Department, Columbia Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

In an attempt to stop the vehicle, at least one set of Spike Strips were used to puncture the tires. When the chase ended only one tire remained intact on theolder model Ford Mustang..

Kidd was taken into custody on the scene and is currently in the Cooper County Jail.
