RK Gun Show in Columbia
The Columbia Gun Show is happening this weekend just west of town at the Midway Expo Center. It’s the first gun show to come to Mid-MO since President Obama said he wanted to use executive action to close a loophole in buying and selling guns.
Currently, all federally licensed sellers must perform background checkers on their buyers. Private sellers do not.
The doors to the expo center opened at 9am to a line of people waiting outside. One gentleman that spoke with ABC 17 crews said he agrees that sales online or in magazines should require background checks. But he said personal sales, between friends or families, should not.
The gun show will be open until 5pm Saturday, and from 9am to 3pm on Sunday.
