Stolen car pulled out of Missouri River

Authorities pulled a red car out of the Missouri River in Jefferson City Friday morning.

Jefferson City police confirmed a vehicle was partially submerged in the water at the Missouri River bridge. They tell us the car was reported stolen out of Columbia Friday morning.

Police say no one was in the car, and there’s no reason to believe anyone was harmed.

The Jefferson City Police Department, Fire Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol and Water Patrol Section were on the scene. Officials are continuing their investigation.
