UPDATE: Mexico man found after SILVER advisory issued

The Mexico Police Department said a man was found safe in Illinois after the department issued a SILVER advisory for him Wednesday afternoon.

80-year-old Charles P. Williams was “located safe” in Pittsfield, Illinois, the department said in a news release sent at 11:25 p.m. Pittsfield is nearly 75 miles east of Mexico.

The release said Mr. Williams suffers from dementia.

Charles P. Williams left his residence between 4:30 PM and 6:00 PM on Wednesday, January 13, 2016. Originally, authorities did not know his direction of travel and possible destination.
