Fire crews investigating “suspicious” fire at William Woods University

Firefighters were investigating a fire at a mid-Missouri University Tuesday.

It happened at William Woods University in Fulton around 1:30 Tuesday afternoon.

Fire crews responded after a security guard reported smoke coming out of a vent in one of the bathrooms in Tucker Hall.

Tucker hall is apparently one of the cafeteria halls on campus and does not have a smoke alarm.

No one was injured in the fire and there was only some minor damage to ceiling tiles in the building. Fire authorities said no one was evacuated from the building.

The fire marshal was on the scene investigating the fire for at least an hour Tuesday. Fire crews said the fire was suspicious. They said nothing in the area should’ve started the fire.

Fire crews were still trying to determine a cause Tuesday evening.
