Cole County arrests one man after stolen vehicle pursuit

A man is in custody Friday afternoon after fleeing Cole County deputies who discovered he was driving a stolen car.

Turner Murrell, the suspect in custody, was wanted in Cole County for burglary with a $50,000 bond.

According to a sheriff’s department news release, Murrell led deputies on a chase at about 2:30 Friday afternoon.

Authorities said it started in Wardsville and went south on Route B. The chase continued to Osage Bend, turning onto Route W.

Deputies put out spike strips there to stop him, but Murrell turned onto a private street and then hit a fence.

Duputies were able to arrested him without further incident.

He has been arrested on charges of first-degree tampering and felony resisting by fleeing with a no-bond warrant.
