Snow develops Saturday as arctic air moves in
A storm system will move in from the southwest, tracking across southeast Missouri during the day Saturday. Ahead of this system, moisture will move in from the south while it pulls in colder air from the northwest. As a result, rain will develop and quickly change to snow from Saturday morning through the afternoon.
There will be a sharp drop off in precipitation on the back-side of this storm system with little to no snow accumulation in our western and northwestern counties while areas along and south of HWY 54 will see the highest amounts. A slight shift in the path of the low pressure center will cause snow amounts to change.
Rain and snow move in near 7 AM at the Lake of the Ozarks, spreading northeast through mid-morning as it changes to all snow. Snow is expected to be steady for a few hours in the afternoon along and east of HWY 63, gradually shifting east and out of our area by 6 PM.
