Police: school employee crashes work truck while drunk

West Boulevard South in Columbia near Rollins Road temporarily closed Tuesday morning after a man hit a light pole and then a house with his car. Jeffrey Cole, 27, was driving a Columbia Public Schools pickup truck before crashing in the 600 block of West Boulevard.

ABC 17 News has confirmed Cole was employed as a member of the CPS specialized maintenance grounds crew.

Police officers determined Cole was driving drunk when he hit a parked vehicle, a utility pole, and a house.

There were no injuries in the collision, and the amount of damage has not been determined yet.
