Man arrested for pulling out gun and getting caught with drugs

A Columbia man is facing possible charges after reportedly pulling out a gun and getting caught with drugs Friday.

Deputies arrested William Cockrell, 50, around 1:15 p.m.

Cockrell violated a protection order by going near a home in the 6500 Block of North Brown Station Road, according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Department.

Cockrell reportedly pulled out a handgun in the home.

Deputies later found Cockrell in the 6200 Block of Nelson Drive with meth, cocaine, marijuana and prescription pills.

Cockrell is a convicted felon. He is currently in the Boone County Jail on an $11,000 bond.
