Deputies arrest teen after shots heard in Boone County

Deputies have arrested 18-year-old Wayne Lankford in connection with an incident in which dozens of shots were fired Friday.

Deputy Tracey Cleeton with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department said several residents reported hearing 40 to 50 rounds of shots just about 6 p.m.

He said it happened in the 1500 block of Bonne Femme Church Road where a group of people were shooting weapons.

Deputies found a handgun, marijuana and $10,000 in cash in Lankford’s car.

So far, no one else has been arrested.
