Authorities identify man killed in tree cutting accident
UPDATE-Authorities have identified the man killed in a tree cutting accident.
The victim was Bill Eickhorst, 62, of Holts Summit, according to the Callaway County Sheriff’s Department.
ABC 17 News confirmed a man died Wednesday morning after a tree fell on top of him northeast of Jefferson City in Holts Summit.
The Callaway County sheriff’s office said the victim was cutting a tree in the 1500 block of S. Summit Drive at the time of the accident.
Deputies responded around 10:45 a.m. The medical examiner was later called in, who confirmed the death.
