Second Wettest December on Record

From Saturday morning through Monday evening, rainfall totals ranged from 3″ up to 9″ for areas near I-44. At Columbia, 4.49″ was the storm total, and 5.17″ at Jefferson City. This brings the total rainfall for the month of December up to 7.04″, and places December of 2015 as the 2nd wettest December on record. The wettest December on record is 7.82″ set in 1895. This also puts 2015 in 10th place for wettest year on record. With over 49″ of rainfall for the year, we are near 7″ above average for the end of the year.
