Days of rain cause icy roadways

Columbia Public Works issued an advisory Monday evening warning drivers of potentially icy roadways.

Days of rain coupled with the freezing temperatures Monday night could affect your morning commute.

ABC17 News had crews out on the roads this morning monitoring conditions in Columbia, where we did encounter some slick roadways.

Public Works says the greatest potential for ice is on neighborhood roads as well as low traffic areas. You should also be wary of bridges and overpasses, as they tend to see more ice accumulate.
