Dangerous Flooding On Tap for This Holiday Weekend

Life threatening flooding will ensue this weekend as a robust storm system treks its way northeastward through Mid-Missouri. Heavy rain, which began Saturday, will continue through Monday. The heaviest rainfall is expected to occur during the Saturday night through Sunday morning time period and then again from Sunday afternoon through Monday night.

Areas to the southwest are expected to accumulate the highest rainfall amounts, where 5 to 7″ are possible. This will result in the rapid rise of smaller rivers and creeks, putting all of our viewing area under a Flash Flood watch through Monday, with the counties of Gasconade, Osage, Maries, Miller, Camden, Phelps, and Pulaksi under a Flash Flood Warning until around midnight tonight. This will make holiday travel via roadways quite dangerous.
