City sends letters to community on transmission line project
The City of Columbia is sending letters to community members to inform them about an upcoming hearing.
This comes after residents raised concerns that the city wasn’t keeping them well informed about the Columbia Electric Transmission Line project.
The City Council voted last month to hold another hearing with the promise that city staff would provide more specific information on the project.
The project calls for an 8 mile long line of poles stretching from Grindstone Parkway to Scott Blvd.
The project was approved in 2013, and a public hearing is scheduled for January 19 at City Hall.
