Police: Violent fugitive arrested in Jefferson City

ABC 17 News confirmed the Jefferson City SWAT team arrested a fugitive on Monday. Law enforcement in South Dakota are currently looking for a man accused of 10 counts of aggravated assault and discharging a firearm, after an assault in Sioux Fallslast Thursday.

The suspect, Christian David Ladin-Villela, age 20, was wanted for his accused role in the attack, and a warrant for his arrest was issued with a $500,000 bond.

Police learned Ladin-Villela was in Jefferson City and started surveillance.

After he was found, SWAT members swarmed the area in the 700 block of Morris Drive, where the suspect was in a home. He surrendered peacefully without incident. Ladin-Villela is now in the Cole County jail before he is taken to Sioux Falls.
