Police identify woman arrested after chase in Jefferson City

On Friday police identified a woman they arrested after a chase in Jefferson City.

Police said they arrested 40-year-old Katina Daniels after the chase Thursday night.

Country Club Drive on the west side of Jefferson City was temporarily closed after the high speed chase Thursday night.

Jefferson City police said officers saw Daniels driving without her headlights on in the 3600 block of Country Club Drive. Officers said the chase started after Daniels refused to pull over.

Police said The pursuit continued on Country Club Drive to 179, then west on Highway 50 to Apache Flats. The suspect then turned around in a trailer park and returned to Jefferson City. Police said Daniels struck an area of raised concrete during that turn and eventually lost her tire while exiting Highway 50 to Country Club Drive.

Police said Daniels then drove back to the original area where the traffic stop was first attempted near a Hardees fast food restaurant. Daniels then struck a curb and was taken into custody.

Nearly a dozen officers were on scene in front of the Capital Mall as of 6:30 p.m.

ABC 17 News crews saw police carrying a large bag of cash away from the vehicle.

A Toyota Camry was towed away from the scene at 6:50 p.m. Officers left the scene quickly after to apprehend another possible suspect.

Daniels was arrested on suspicion of driving while revoked, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest by fleeing, a warrant for failing to appear on a separate Driving While Revoked charge, and a felony warrant for stealing out of Cole County.

Daniels was not charged as of Friday afternoon.

The passenger in the vehicle was determined to have no involvement.
