Two killed in Montgomery County car wreck
Two people are dead Monday night following a vehicle crash on Missouri Highway 19, about three miles south of Interstate 70.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the wreck happened around 7:30 p.m near the town of New Florence.
One driver was trying to pass another in a no passing zone. When the first car came to the top of a hill, it hit a second vehicle coming the other way.
Both people in the first car died. They were Scott Almstedt, 56, and Nancy Almstedt, 54 from Franklin County.
The driver of the second car suffered moderate injuries.
Troopers with Troop F investigated the crash.
