Rain & storms this weekend

We are tracking a strong area of low pressure which will move in from the southwest and track across Mid-Missouri Saturday night through Sunday. This storm system will pick up moisture and give us increasing rain chances Saturday. Rain and storms will become likely by Saturday evening and overnight. A few strong storms can’t be ruled out but at this time, severe weather is not expected.

As this storm system moves northeast, colder air will move in Sunday with temperatures staying in the upper 30s to mid 40s through the day. Rain in the morning will turn to showers as the colder air aloft moves in. There is a chance of snow showers if the moisture lingers as the cold air arrives. At this time, measurable snow is not expected but please check back for updates through the week.

Rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches are possible through Sunday with this system with up to 2.5″ possible near I-44.
