Warming temperatures, weekend showers & t-storms

A mild weather pattern is shaping up for the rest of the work week with high temperatures 15-20 degrees above average as we reach into the low to mid 60s Thursday and Friday. The weather looks mainly dry through Friday, with the exception of a few sprinkles or brief light showers Tuesday night.

A stronger storm system will move in Friday night into Saturday from the southwest, picking up moisture and sending rain and t-storms into Missouri. A few showers are possible late Friday night but most of the rain moves in Saturday afternoon and evening as showers and t-storms become likely.

The surface low pressure tracks to the northeast, dragging a cold front across the state Saturday night with rain ending from west to east. Showers will linger into Sunday morning east of HWY 63, ending by noon with cooler temperatures. Most areas will pick up a half inch to an inch of rain but areas southeast of HWY 54 could see two inches of rain through early Sunday.
