Spotty Showers Sunday Will Be Quick to Move Out

Clouds will noticeably increase this evening ahead of an approaching shortwave trough that will be moving through Missouri from west to east during the day on Sunday. Although there is not much moisture in place to produce heavy rainfall, there is an adequate amount of isentropic lift associated with this system to make for mentionable rain chances.

The best chance for showers will remain to the north of I-70 from about 6AM to noon. After 1PM, the chance for showers will drop off considerably for areas West of HWY 63 as the system treks to the east. Due to the lack of moisture, these showers will be light and only occur for brief durations of time.

The region should be dry again by tomorrow evening after this system quickly exits Mid-Missouri, leaving us with partly cloudy skies for Sunday night.
