Columbia man sentenced for woman’s Cooper Co. death
A Columbia man will spend 20 years in prison for beating a woman to death and leaving her on the side of a gravel road in Cooper Co.
26-year-old Bryant Holmes Jr. was caught back in October 2013.
The sheriff believes he killed Satina Beckner with a blunt object.
Her body was later found near Crab Orchard Road about 5 miles south of Boonville.
She left behind 4 young children.
Satina is also the cousin of Tre Marshall, who was murdered in McKee Street Park in north Columbia earlier that same year.
Holmes appeared in court and pleaded guilty to both 2nd degree murder and armed criminal action.
