Chairman of Downtown Leadership Council running for Columbia mayor

Another person launched a campaign for mayor of Columbia Wednesday.

Brian Treece, the current chairman of the Downtown Leadership Council, announced he is running for the position.

Treece is also a member of the City of Columbia’s Historic Perservation Commission.

Treece said Columbia must strengthen its neighborhoods, improve city infrastructure and public safety, and ensure the responsible use of taxpayer dollars.

He is the second candidate to formally announce his campaign.
