Trial date set for man accused in Jefferson City murder

The trial for a Jefferson City murder suspect is scheduled for March 14 2016.

Paris Alexander-Henderson is accused of shooting 33-year-old Bryant Sturkey just before 1:00 a.m. April 25 in the 1400 block of Elizabeth Street.

Sturkey died from his injuries.

According to court documents, Alexander-Henderson shot from his car at Sturkey, once in the leg and once in the torso as he was running away.

Alexander-Henderson told police he shot Sturkey over an argument involving family members.

Alexander-Henderson has a previous arrest in 2014 for a weapons offense.

He’s charged with second degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, and armed criminal action.
