Counties south of HWY 50 are in the Marginal threat today. This includes, Cole, Monituea, Osage, Gasconade, Maries, Phelps, Pulaski, Miller, Camden, Morgan, Benton, southern Pettis and Cooper. The threats include damaging 60+ mph winds and an isolated tornado. Forecast models are indicating a squall line (a line of thunderstorms) moving in this afternoon by 2PM to southwest Mid-Missouri in Benton County. Storms will be likely tracking north/northeast at 35 to 40 mph, moving to the Ozarks area by 3PM. Storms will be in a linear line with possible bowing segments. These bowing we’ll need to watch have these will have the best opportunity to produce strong winds. Embedded within the line, we’ll watch for discrete cells that could have some rotation and spin up a tornado this afternoon through 6PM.
