Man accused of raping, running over woman in Jefferson City
A Jefferson City man was arrested Monday after allegedly raping and running over a woman.
Jefferson City Police responded to St. Mary’s Hospital where a woman told them she had been raped.
She told police earlier in the day that she agreed to pick 26-year-old Wayne Ivory and take him home.
According to court documents, Ivory told her to pull over, and when she did, he asked her to have sexual intercourse with him. When she declined, he forcefully raped her. The victim said she was able to open one of the rear car doors and kick the window out.
Court documents said she took off running, but Ivory caught up to her, tackled her, and choked her.
When she was able to get up, the victim told police Ivory got into her car and ran over her legs. She said he put her in the car and forced her to go his mother’s house until he allowed her to leave.
Police said they found the victim’s clothes and pieces of hair in the 1000 block of Cedar Way, where the alleged assault happened. The victim’s injuries were consistent with her account of the incident.
Officers found Ivory at his home that afternoon.
On Tuesday, officers interviewed Ivory, who said he was having consensual intercourse with her when she asked him to stop. However, Ivory said he didn’t stop because “he felt she didn’t want to be with him.” Ivory also denied running the victim over with the car.
Ivory is charged with rape, sodomy, two counts of domestic assault, and false imprisonment, and is being held on a $250,000 bond.
