Other campuses react to MU protests
Other campuses across the U.S. are reacting Thursday following this week’s events and protests at the University of Missouri.
Officials at Howard University in Washington D.C. said the school learned about a threatening online post Wednesday night on social media.
Local and federal agencies and the field office for the FBI have been briefed about the issue.
Security has been increased on that campus and nearby metro stations.
More than 20 other universities have planned demonstrations this week, including a rally at Virginia Commonwealth University.
In some of those cases, it’s inspiring action. Almost 1,000 students walked out of class Wednesday at Ithaca College in New York wanting their president to resign.
Some students at Yale and Michigan are demanding similar responses from their own officials.
