FBI spokesperson Bridget Patton told ABC 17 News agents were in the area carrying out a search warrant in coordination with Columbia Police, Boone County sheriff’s deputies and the postal inspection service. Patton said the incident was a part of an ongoing investigative matter.

Our ABC 17 News reporter who was on scene also saw law enforcement from the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Boone County Sheriff’s Department in the area.

Our reporter also saw law enforcement lead a woman away from a home in handcuffs. It is not clear if this woman was taken into custody.

Police said authorities were calling in additional units and had brought in K9 units around 11 Tuesday morning.

Michelle Baumstark with Columbia Public Schools said school officials were keeping students at Ceder Ridge Elementary School inside due to law enforcement in the area.

Baumstark also confirmed the students in the trailers at the school were temporarily brought inside and said there is no recess Tuesday. Baumstark said school officials sent a message to parents about the incident.

Just before noon Tuesday, Baumstark said law enforcement gave the school the “all clear.” Baumstark said students were safe and were continuing with their daily routines. Baumstark also said students were returning to their mobile classrooms.
